get ready

It has been a long three months, to say the least, working in this God forsaken town. I hate to cut it down so much, but as a traveler, always on the move, conquering new places, and meeting new peeps all the time, when ever I arrive back in the town of Sonoma, I realize there are no more surprises for a while. Nothing ever changes.

I have spent the last month or so living at a Christmas tree farm. Literally. I’ve been living in a 26 foot trailer, on the property. But it has been soooooo much fun! It’s been my job to run a second Christmas tree farm that we have in Sonoma, and being that it is right downtown, I have to live there to watch over all the beautiful trees. I don’t know where time has gone, but it’s peaced out, and now it’s time for my departure. I have been waiting for this moment for such a long time, and have said to myself repeatedly everyday, “A good surfer,….is a patient surfer.”

I’m starting my journey in Arizona first, to kick it with someone for a few days, and then it’s off to Baja Mexico with my bro’s for New Year’s. Tequila, fish tacos, ceviche, and some surf for ten days. It’s going to be wild! Thailand is where we’ll start backpacking right after. We fly into Bangkok, and after getting my wisdom teeth out, a vaccination, and some new passport pages, we’ll be heading to the north from there. We have a general idea on how we want to explore the region, but you never know what’s going to happen. That’s what it’s all about. The best plan, is no plan. And that’s how it’s going to be for five months.

After that,…well… I have a few ideas. We’ll see what the future brings. Three more days, and I’m outty!
